We are proud to announce that St Louis High School has been awarded the Green Schools Flag for Global Citizenship Energy. This achievement reflects our commitment to sustainability, energy management and global awareness. As part of the process, the Green Schools Committee held weekly meetings, conducted energy audits, held a Blackout Day, gathered insights through surveys, created displays and organised quizzes and competitions. These events engaged the entire school community in our Green Schools journey.
In addition, we ensure that the initiatives from our previous Green Schools flags are maintained, with a focus on recycling, waste reduction, and biodiversity. Through activities such as Concern Debates, St Louis Network Debates, Junk Kouture, murals, creating sustainable crafts, and our gardening initiatives, among many others, we actively raise awareness of environmental challenges and work to combat them. Students have further contributed by displaying their talents in the arts, writing poems, songs, raps, and stories to raise awareness.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our wonderful Green Schools Committee, and to the wider school community. We look forward to our future projects; new members are always welcome! Thank you to Ms Derwin who is currently leading Green Schools and to previous leaders, Ms McLennan and Ms Kelly.
