We at St Louis High School are delighted that you are taking the time to learn about the rich holistic education that is experienced by our students and which makes our school special.
St.Louis High School for girls derives its ethos from the philosophy of the Sisters of St Louis. This ethos permeates all disciplines and every curricular activity. It strives for a community of students, teachers, ancillary staff and management which attempts to live by Gospel values, recognising the dignity of each individual and working for justice and peace in society.
The staff in St.Louis High School aim to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their potential. Our state examination results reflect our commitment to excellence in learning and teaching and the achievement of high academic standards. Regular reports, careful monitoring and an awards system are all part of the culture that encourages each student to strive to achieve their personal best. In addition, students participate in a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The emphasis which the St.Louis Sisters placed on Music, Drama, the Arts, Debating and Sport continues in our school today. In addition, we encourage all members of the school community to participate in initiatives which promote care for our environment and beyond.
We have a very strong pastoral care system in place with dedicated year heads, class teachers, counsellors and a care team overseeing supports for students. We work closely with parents in order to support every student. Our Wellbeing programme along with dedicated weeks such as Sláinte and Cairdeas (anti-bullying), Arts Festival, Maths, Science, Stand-up, Seachtain na Gaeilge and Súil Eile Weeks all contribute to enriching our students’ educational experience.
