The 6th-Year Art class, accompanied by Ms. Howard and Ms. Delaney, visited Knowth and Newgrange today as part of their Visual Studies revision for the written exam. The weather was on our side, allowing us to fully explore these extraordinary monuments, which are even older than the Egyptian pyramids.
Seeing these historic sites, built by our ancestors, was truly remarkable. Exploring both the interiors and exteriors while admiring the intricate stone motifs and artwork was a memorable experience that brought art history vividly to life.
The class thoroughly enjoyed the trip and are now jokingly hoping this topic might appear on the Leaving Cert paper! It was excellent revision, and regardless of what happens, it was a special day together, one that will be cherished by all. Sincere thanks to Ms Howard and Ms Delaney for organising this wonderful opportunity for our students.
