STEM Club

January 26, 2026

Our STEM Club had a brilliant hands-on session last week.  Students explored the science of pressure and elasticity by performing “balloon surgery” piercing balloons with wooden skewers without popping them. A few even managed to push the skewer all the way through the balloon.

Students then put creativity and engineering skills to the test by building spaghetti towers using spaghetti, marshmallows, and tape. The students came up with impressively inventive structures, experimenting with balance, height, and stability to keep their towers standing tall.

It was a fantastic mix of science, problem‑solving, and fun! Well done to all STEM club members and sincere thanks to Mr Swift for leading the STEM club in SLHS.
