SLHS was pleased to welcome the Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, to the school on Friday, 17th of April, to visit our 5th-year Politics and Society class. During his visit, the Minister met with students and staff and spoke about his role in government, as well as the work of the Department of Justice and its relevance to everyday life in Ireland.
Students engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions on topics including citizenship, equality, and civic responsibility. The visit was a valuable learning experience, giving students insight into democratic participation and public service, and we thank Minister O’Callaghan for taking the time to visit and engage so positively with our school community. Sincere thanks to Ms Tyndall for organising the Minister’s visit to SLHS.
