Junior Cyc;le Examination period
May 28, 2025
In advance of the Junior Cycle examinations, which commence next Wednesday June 4th, we ask 3rd year parents/guardians to consider the following:
We ask parents/guardians to please check your daughter’s timetable with her every evening in advance of the next day. Your support in this way during the Junior Cycle examination period will help to ensure that all goes smoothly for them.
Please also note the following points that have been highlighted by Ms Eustace (our state examinations co-ordinator) to all of our 3rd year students.
- Bring your lunch and water
Students won’t be allowed to leave school at lunchtime, and the Food Village will be closed — so make sure to bring a healthy lunch and plenty of water to keep you focused and energised.
- After the first exam each day:
3rd year students have lunch for the first hour, followed by a supervised study session for the next hour before their second exam.
Students must attend this study session if they have an exam in the afternoon.
- Students must make sure that they have all the equipment that they need for their exams — including:
- Pens, pencils, erasers, rulers
- A calculator (for exams that allow one)
- Maths sets if needed (compass, protractor, etc.)
- A clear pencil case
- If the weather is fine sunny and students want to eat their lunch outside, don’t forget to bring sun cream and a hat to stay safe in the sun. ️
We wish our Junior Cycle students every success in their state examinations. They have worked well and we have every confidence in them all.
