2U experienced the wonders of the National Library of Ireland on Kildare Street, today. Ms. Muldoon, their history and English teacher, brought them to Yeats: The Life and Works of William Butler Yeats, a permanent exhibition in the NLI.
Our journey to Kildare Street was punctuated by noteworthy stop-offs; a plaque commemorating the first pneumatic tyre factory in the world on Stephen Street Upper, the entrance to an ancient church and round tower on Ship Street Great, a pitstop at the Record Tower in Dublin Castle and, finally, we gave three cheers in honour of the Irish Suffragette, Hannah Sheehy Skeffington, outside the gates of Dublin Castle. The students were reminded of how fortunate we are to be surrounded by history and culture in our beautiful capital city.
Thank you to Ms. Muldoon and Maria (SNA) for accompanying 2U on such an enriching and enjoyable trip.
