TRANSITION YEAR 2014-
Year Head: Ms Capper
Transition Year Induction Day
On Tuesday 2nd September 2014 all the TYs participated in an induction day. This was an extremely positive experience where they spent time learning about each other and focusing on the year ahead. We wish all our TYs well with the forthcoming year and hope that they will take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
4U History trip to Glasnevin Cemetery
On the 24th October, 4U went on a class trip to Glasnevin Cemetery. There, each of the girls gave a short presentation on a historical figure of their own choosing, who is buried in the cemetery. Glasnevin offers a range of educational programmes for schools and runs a tour guiding project for Transition Year students. It encourages students to build on their confidence and learn techniques of guiding such as delivery, content and body language. One of the students will be asked back to partake in the programme with more students from other schools early next year. The students all did themselves proud on the day and learned a lot from the experience.
